Energy Performance Certificates

ALL RENTAL PROPERTIES IN ENGLAND AND WALES
REQUIRE, BY LAW, AN EPC!

From October 1st, 2008, all rental properties with a new/renewed tenancy in England and Wales will be required to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

Landlords who fail to comply with the law could result in a £200 fine for non compliance. The EPC will remain valid for 10 years.

The EPC is designed to help landlords identify measures to improve the energy effeciency of their properties and give tenants an indication of the costs of running the property.
